Clearview Cape Kidnappers Merlot Cabernet 2019

Clearview Winery was founded by wine lover and winemaker Tim Turvey, who was the first to plant grapes on the coast at Te Awanga, south of Napier; it's a beautiful, if windy, site, and home to a tasty fruit salad of reds with Chardonnay his leading white.
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc from Clearview's Te Awanga and SH50 vineyards were separately fermented in open top fermenters where they were hand plunged through fermentation.
From the excellent 2019 vintage, this wine has satisfying Cabernet aromatics with nicely integrated oak complexity. The palate retains a freshness with red berry fruit characters.
Perfect next to a little venison, or bitter chocolate pithivier.
