A blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon, fruit from Australia, from the 2012 vintage. 14.3% alc. Dark, deep, black-hued red, lighter edged.
This has a well-concentrated bouquet of ripe black berry fruits along with savoury currant and dark herbal notes infused with black pepper and dusty, earthy elements.
Medium-full bodied, deep and intense flavours of black berry fruits earth and a little tar unfold to show subtly sweet and succulent red fruit elements on the palate.
The alcohol provides some depth, warmth and generosity, adding to a soft-textured, weighty mouthfeel. Soft, supple tannins underline the fruit with good presence and some drive, carrying the palate to a warm finish with light currant and earthy nuances.
This is a moderately full-bodied, warming blended red with a supple mouthfeel. Match with barbecued and grilled red meats over the next 3-4 years.
