Craggy Range Kidnappers Chard 750ml
Very much one for the white Burgundy purists, this wine off Craggy Range's seaside vineyard at Te Awanga shows more terroir than most Chardonnays with an endearing, subtle, salty, sea breeze character that Steve Smith MW and Matt Stafford believe is almost entirely vineyard-derived.
- The nose is all honeysuckle, almond and white peach, with hints of flint and river stone.
- The palate is all about focus, texture and minerality with racy, lemon acidity and subtle flavours of grapefruit, butterscotch and peach giving a definite nod to the French whites of Chablis.
- Bracingly fresh and pure when young, this wine will improve through to 2018 and hold from there if well cellared.
