It is New Zealand's favourite rum. Warm, rich and full flavoured, it is authentic Jamaican rum. Coruba original is a dark, full flavoured jamaican rum in the traditional style blended from a selection of pot and column still rums aged in small oak barrels. Barrels ageing and the addition of caramel produces a rebust. Coruba Original classes as a grade darker than gold rum – aged longer, in heavily charred barrels. Coruba Original has a much stronger flavour than either light or gold rum, and hints of spices can be detected along with a strong molasses or caramel overtone. It is used to provide substance in rum drinks, as well as colour.
