Brancott Estate Sauvignon Gris 14.5%, 750ml
The grapes for this wine were machine and hand harvested from 25th March through to 14th April. They were crushed and gently bag pressed and cold settled for 24-36 hours. After settling, the juice was racked to small stainless fermenters. The racked juice was deliberately left quite cloudy, to enhance the texture of the wine, then fermented between 12- 16°C. Components were left on light lees until blending, to build additional textural richness.
Aroma and Palate
- This wine is pale straw in colour and displays aromas of white fleshed nectarine and pear, balanced with ruby grapefruit characters.
- The palate is soft and weighty with pear and stone fruit characters, currant leaf hints and a lengthy citrus finish.
Cellaring and Food Matching
- A great match for seafood, especially pan seared salmon, this wine will also pair well with pork and chicken based dishes.
- Though made to drink while young, this wine may be cellared for up to three years to develop further complexity.
